Hey everyone! Autumn is finally here and I am so excited. Autumn is my favorite time of the year with the sweet smelling candles, cool evenings, and of course, Halloween! For this post I am going to be sharing two DIYs that I have done to spice up my pumpkins. Let's get started!
The first DIY is the super easy! They are little pumpkin donuts!
For this DIY, you will need:
Mini pumpkins (I got mine from a local farmer's market)
Sponge Brushes
A few paper plates
Toothpicks
And the following acrylic paint colors- white, brown, pink, orange, blue, purple, and yellow
The first step that I did to create these pumpkin donuts was to paint my pumpkin a lighter, more pastel, orange. This step is completely optional, but I thought it gave made the pumpkins a bit cuter.
The next thing I did was to mix together a light pink and light brown. The other colors were already pastels so I didn't need to make them lighter, but feel free to lighten up your other paints until you are happy.
Next, I used a sponge brush to paint on the "icing", don't paint this in a straight line across the pumpkin, I painted the icing on only about a third of the pumpkin.
The last step is super easy, taking a few toothpicks l you need o is them into the colors you haven't used yet (blue, purple, yellow, I also used orange) and lightly draw on sprinkles. I found the easiest way to do this is to hold the toothpick sideways and brush it across the pumpkin.
There you have it! A pumpkin donut! make sure to let these dry before you move them. Now let's move to the next DIY
For this DIY you will need:
Spray paint (used a metallic black)
And a pumpkin (I used a slightly larger one that with the donuts)
All you need to do for this DIY is take your pumpkin outside and give it a spray, let it dry and you're done!
This DIY is a super simple way to spice up a pumpkin, including if is has mud stains on it.
I hope you liked these DIYs, they are upper simple and really fun to make!
The next post will be on baking
(Either Halloween treats, apple cider cupcakes, or pumpkin donuts)
Comment requests and which treat you want to see in the next post below!
Until then,
Ally
